Hello, I'm Evan Taylor — the artist and maker behind Silver Spoon Jewellery.

Since 2013, I have been breathing new life into antique silverware, transforming forgotten pieces into unique, wearable works of art. Each creation honours the intricate patterns and fine craftsmanship of a bygone era, preserving a piece of history while giving it an entirely new purpose. What began as a passion project at the Perth Farmer's Market quickly grew into something far greater — a calling to master the ancient art of goldsmithing and silversmithing.

Largely self-taught, I have spent years honing my craft through dedication, experimentation, and a deep respect for the materials I work with. That hands-on journey is reflected in every piece I create — each one is one-of-a-kind, shaped by the unique character of the original silverware and made with care from start to finish. Whether you are drawn to a piece in the collection or have something special in mind, I warmly welcome commissions and would love to create something meaningful just for you.

I invite you to explore the collection, follow along my journey on social media, and feel free to get in touch — I'd love to hear from you.

FAQ

Is all of your jewellery sterling silver?

That depends. Each piece that is made from sterling silver features a hallmark of either ".925" or "sterling", identifying it as genuine.

Most sets of silverware that people own are silver-plated and have the hallmarks "Community","IS", "ESIP" or "Nickel Silver".

How do I find out what my ring size is?

Please download our printable instructions on how to find your ring size.

Will my skin react to this?

If you have a metal sensitivity to silver, nickel, copper or brass, you may experience issues.

Are your earrings hypoallergenic?

Yes, for non sterling silver earrings, we use surgical steel earring hooks, backed with a gel stopper.

Do I have to take special care of my silver?

Wearing silver often is one of the best ways to keep it polished. The oils from your skin and buffing against clothing will keep it bright for a long time. However, if exposed to oxygen and not worn for an amount of time, silver and even silver-plate will begin to naturally tarnish. Keep your silver jewellery in an air tight container or store with a silica gel packet to absorb excess moisture when not idling worn.

How do you polish your silverware?

We use a product known as "Never-Dull", which can be found at most Canadian Tire and Home Hardware stores in Canada.

Where can we find your store?

Silver Spoon Jewellery is a home based business at this time and we do not currently have a physical store front in the town of Perth. Perhaps one day! We can make special arrangements for customers to view our products in a private venue. Please message us about a private viewing of our works.

Do you do custom work?

Yes we do. If you would like to have something made, please fill out our contact form and tell us about your project. We will send you a free quote asap.

Do you buy used silverware?

We source our silverware from local antique markets and estate sales as well as from eBay when able. If you have silverware you would like to donate or if you have precious metals we are willing to negotiate for the right price. Please contact us if you have any questions.
